Mike's Super Short Show was a fun, quick TV series on Disney Channel. It was also known as The Super Short Show in some places. This show was actually a clever way to advertise new movies and attractions from Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, and Disney Parks.
About Mike's Super Short Show
This short program was only about two minutes long per episode. It starred Mike Johnson as Mike and Alyson Stoner as his sister, Sally. They would chat about new and upcoming Disney movies that were coming out on VHS or DVD. This included big movies that were in theaters and also movies made just for home video, like the Air Bud films.
The show started on January 1, 2002. It was created by Art Spigel and produced by Jason Wolk. The series ran for several years, ending on March 6, 2007.
What the Show Promoted
Mike's Super Short Show often appeared during Disney Channel commercial breaks. It would promote many movies from The Walt Disney Company and Pixar Animation Studios. For example, they featured films like The Incredibles, The Haunted Mansion, and The Little Mermaid. These promotions usually happened right before the movies were available to buy at home.
Sometimes, the show also gave viewers a special peek at events happening at Walt Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in California. This included exciting things like the opening of a brand-new ride or attraction.
Many popular Disney stars also made guest appearances on the show. Some of these stars included Amy Bruckner, Aly & AJ, Kyla Pratt, Ashley Tisdale, Raven-Symoné, Brenda Song, Christy Carlson Romano, The Cheetah Girls, Ricky Ullman, and Miley Cyrus.
Other Disney Short Shows
After Mike's Super Short Show finished, a new show called Disney's Really Short Report took its place. This show was styled like a news report and ran until January 2009. Then, Leo Little's Big Show came along, which was very similar to Mike's Super Short Show and also aired on Disney Channel.
