Moving to Los Angeles
In 2017, Third World Don moved to Los Angeles. There, he signed a music deal with Strainge Entertainment. This record label was owned by Elliot Grainge. Elliot is the son of Lucian Grainge, a very important person in the music world. Lucian is the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group.
Releasing New Music
After signing his deal, Third World Don released a song called "Ray Charles". This song was very popular and received great reviews. It has been streamed over 1.3 million times on SoundCloud. The song was also included on a special album by Universal Music Group. This album featured other big names like Pharrell Williams, Logic, and Chance The Rapper.
A Change in Record Labels
Elliot Grainge wanted his label to grow even more. He signed new artists like Trippie Redd and Tekashi 6ix9ine. However, his label, Strainge Entertainment, later faced a legal issue. Another rapper, Tech N9ne, had a label called Strange Music. He felt that the name "Strainge" was too similar and could confuse fans.
After a long discussion, Elliot Grainge decided to change his label's name. He announced that he would no longer use "Strainge". Instead, his new music company would be called 10K Projects.
