Being Part of Wizard Sleeve
Third World Don is a member of the music group Wizard Sleeve from Miami. The group is famous for their hit song "Riverside (Let's Go!)". This song was released in 2010.
"Riverside (Let's Go!)" was very popular. It reached number 2 on the music charts in the UK and Ireland. It was also named one of BBC Radio 1's top 40 songs of that time. The song has been streamed over 23 million times on Spotify.
Solo Music Projects
In 2011, Third World Don released his own music project called "Boom Bap". A Norwegian music producer named Adonis created all the beats for this album.
The "Boom Bap" album has 10 songs. It features other well-known rappers like Guilty Simpson, Royce da 5'9", and AZ. Don has also collaborated with US rappers such as Saigon, Sean Price, and Cappadonna from the famous group Wu-Tang Clan.
Moving to Los Angeles
In 2017, Third World Don moved to Los Angeles. There, he signed a music contract with Strainge Entertainment. This record label was owned by Elliot Grainge. Elliot is the son of Lucian Grainge, a very important person in the music world and the head of Universal Music Group.
After signing, Don released his song "Ray Charles". This song became very popular. It was streamed over 1.3 million times on SoundCloud. "Ray Charles" was also included on a special Hip Hop Alternative album by Universal Music Group. Other big artists like Pharrell Williams, Logic, and Chance The Rapper were also on this album.
Elliot Grainge wanted his label to grow even more. He signed new artists like Trippie Redd and Tekashi 6ix9ine. However, the label later faced a challenge. Another rapper named Tech N9ne had a label called Strange Music. He felt that the name "Strainge" was too similar to his label's name.
After some discussions, Elliot Grainge decided to change his label's name. He announced that he would no longer use "Strainge". Instead, his new music company would be called 10K Projects.
