Montanoceratops (which means "Montana horned face") was a type of dinosaur called a ceratopsian. These dinosaurs walked on four legs and had a big head. Montanoceratops also had a bulky body and a beak like a parrot. It had a small horn on its nose and special teeth for chewing. A small frill was on the back of its head. Scientists think male Montanoceratops might have had bigger frills than females. This could mean the frill was used to attract a mate.
About Montanoceratops
Montanoceratops was a medium-sized dinosaur. It could grow up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) long. This dinosaur weighed around 900 pounds (400 kilograms). That's about as heavy as a small car!

Montanoceratops lived a very long time ago. It was during the late-Cretaceous period. This was about 72 to 65 million years ago. This time was near the end of the Mesozoic Era, which is also called the Age of Reptiles.
Fossils of Montanoceratops have been found in North America. They were discovered in Montana, USA. Other fossils were found in Alberta, Canada. These discoveries help scientists learn more about this ancient animal.
