Montet is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Fribourg, within the Glâne district.

History of Montet
Montet was first mentioned in old records in the year 1255. Back then, its name was written as Montez.
Geography of Montet
Montet covers an area of about 2.2 square kilometers (0.85 square miles). Most of this land, about 70%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 20% of the area. The rest of the land is used for buildings, roads, or is covered by rivers.
The municipality is located right on the border with the Canton of Vaud.
Montet's Coat of Arms
The official symbol of Montet is its coat of arms. It shows a golden wing on a blue background. Above it, there is a blue cross on a silver background. This design represents the town.

During the 2010-2011 school year, Montet had 35 students in 2 classes. There was one kindergarten class with 16 students. There was also one primary class with 19 students. Students in lower secondary school and upper secondary school traveled to nearby towns for their classes.
