Moola is a small rural area, also called a locality, in Queensland, Australia. It's part of the Western Downs Region. In 2021, about 218 people lived in Moola.

About Moola
Moola is located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of the Warrego Highway. This highway is east of the town of Dalby.
Neighbourhoods in Moola
Moola has two smaller areas within it:
- Woodlawn is in the north-west part of Moola.
- Yamsion is located in the northern part of Moola.
Roads in Moola
The Dalby–Cooyar Road goes through Moola from west to east. The Bunya Mountains Road also runs through the area, starting from the western edge and heading north-east.
Moola's Past
The name Moola is thought to come from an Aboriginal word. Archibald Meston said it means possum.
Early Schools
Moola once had several schools:
- Yamsion State School: This school first opened as Black Gully Provisional School in 1887. It changed its name to Yamsion Provisional School around 1891. In 1909, it became Yamsion State School. For a few years, it shared a teacher with another school. It closed its doors for good in 1967.
- Moola State School: This school started as Moola Provisional School in 1904. It became Moola State School in 1909. This school also closed in 1967.
- Russellvale State School: This school opened in 1930 and closed in 1960.
Post Office and Church
Moola also had its own Post Office, which opened by 1915 and closed in 1962.
In 1922, an Evangelical Lutheran Church was opened in Yamsion. This church building was special because it had been moved from Greenwood. It was originally built there around 1900.
Education Today
There are no schools directly in Moola now. Children living in Moola usually go to primary schools in nearby towns. These include Kaimkillenbun, Quinalow, or Bell.
For high school, students can attend Quinalow State School or Bell State School, which teach up to Year 10. For students needing to complete Year 12, the closest high school is Dalby State High School in Dalby.
