Morgan is a small town located in Orleans County, Vermont, United States. It is the easternmost town in this county. In 2020, about 638 people lived here. The town has two main areas: Morgan and Morgan Center.

History of Morgan
How Morgan Got Its Name
The town of Morgan was named after a person called John Morgan. He owned land in the area a long time ago.
Early Settlers
The very first person to settle in Morgan was Nathan Wilcox. He arrived in the year 1800.
Morgan During the Civil War
During the American Civil War, many men from Morgan joined the army. Forty-seven men from the town served. Sadly, thirteen of them died during the war. They either died from injuries or from sickness.

Morgan covers an area of about 33.9 square miles (87.7 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, which is about 31.3 square miles (81.0 square kilometers). The rest is water.
Lake Seymour
A very important feature of Morgan is Lake Seymour. This entire lake is located within the town's borders. It is a large lake, covering about 1,732 acres (7 square kilometers). Lake Seymour is the third largest lake that is completely inside the state of Vermont. Only Willoughby Lake and Lake Bomoseen are larger.
