About Morven Mountain

Caithness is mostly a flat area of land. Because of this, Morven stands out a lot. Its height and cone shape make it easy to spot from many places. You can even see Morven from across the Moray Firth. This is a large bay of the North Sea. It is visible from towns like Buckie.

Morven's Local Importance

Morven is quite important to the local area. For example, a street in the village of Findochty is named Morven Crescent. This is because of the great view of the mountain from there. Also, the 5th hole at Buckpool Golf Club is called Morven. Many homes in the Buckie area are named "Morven View" if they have a good view of the mountain.

Another Morven

It is interesting to know that there is another mountain named Morven in Aberdeenshire. This can sometimes cause a little confusion!
