About Mount Stakes
Mount Stakes is part of the Diablo Range, a long chain of mountains in California. These mountains stretch across many parts of the state. Mount Stakes is a notable peak because of its height and location.
Where is Mount Stakes Located?
This mountain is found in a central part of California. It's about 22 miles (35 kilometers) west of a town called Newman. If you travel southeast from Livermore, another city, you'll find Mount Stakes about 32 miles (51 kilometers) away. Its position on the county line makes it a special landmark.
Weather on the Mountain
Even though California is known for its sunny weather, Mount Stakes gets some snow. During the winter months, the top of the mountain can be covered in a beautiful layer of white snow. This makes the mountain look different throughout the year, from green and dry in summer to snowy in winter.
