Mykel Shannon Jenkins (born July 3, 1969) is an American actor and filmmaker. He became well-known after winning the first season of the TV show I Wanna Be a Soap Star. Since then, he has acted in many movies and TV shows. His career includes roles in popular soap operas, network television shows, and both independent and big studio films.

Acting Career

Mykel Shannon Jenkins won a special prize for winning I Wanna Be a Soap Star. This prize was a 13-week acting job on the TV show General Hospital. He played a character named Officer Byron Murphy. After his first contract, he continued to appear on the show in a smaller role. His character left the show in 2005.

In 2023, he returned to General Hospital in a new role. He now plays a physical therapist for the character Curtis Ashford. After his first time on General Hospital, he joined The Bold and the Beautiful in 2007. On that show, he played Officer Charlie Baker.

In 2010, Mykel Shannon Jenkins starred with Scott Adkins in a martial arts movie. This film was called Undisputed III: Redemption. In 2017, Jenkins worked on several projects. He played B.B. in Same Kind of Different as Me alongside Greg Kinnear and Renée Zellweger. He was also Detective Dawkins in The Wrong Mother for Lifetime Television. Other roles included Dr. Orson in Teleios and Mickey James in The Gods. He also wrote and produced The Gods.

In 2021, Jenkins played Jim in an action-comedy movie called The Paper Tigers. This film was released by Well Go USA Entertainment. The sequel to The Gods, titled The Gods II, came out in 2023. Mykel Shannon Jenkins is also set to star with Morgan Freeman and Luke Hemsworth in a movie called Gunner. This film is directed by Dimitri Logothetis.
