Nagoorin is a small country town located in the Gladstone Region of Queensland, Australia. It is one of four small towns found within the wider area known as Boyne Valley. The other towns in this area are Ubobo, Builyan, and Many Peaks.

A Look Back: Nagoorin's History
Nagoorin has a history that includes its schools and post office. These places helped the community grow over the years.
Early Schools in Nagoorin
The first school in the area was Lake View Provisional School. It opened on 9 February 1910. A provisional school was usually a smaller school that might not have been permanent. This school closed on 31 June 1917. However, it reopened a few years later on 27 February 1920. Lake View Provisional School finally closed its doors on 31 December 1936.
Nagoorin State School opened later, on 18 October 1915. This school has been an important part of the town for a long time.
Nagoorin's Post Office
The Nagoorin Post Office started operating around 1920. Before that, a smaller "receiving office" was open from 1910. This earlier office was first known as Degalil. The Nagoorin Post Office served the community for many years before closing around 1982.
