Nasrat Haqparast is a professional mixed martial artist. He was born on August 22, 1995. Nasrat is from Afghanistan and competes in the Lightweight division. He is well-known for fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Life and Training
Nasrat Haqparast was born in Germany. His parents were from Kandahar, Afghanistan. They came to Germany as refugees.
When Nasrat was fourteen, his parents thought he was a bit heavy. They encouraged him to take kickboxing classes. One day, he saw an MMA sparring session next door. He was so impressed that he decided to become an MMA fighter.
Professional MMA Career
Starting Out
Nasrat Haqparast began his professional MMA journey in 2012. He quickly built an impressive record. He won eight fights and lost only one. This strong start helped him get noticed by the UFC.
Fighting in the UFC
Nasrat made his first appearance in the UFC on October 21, 2017. He stepped in to fight Marcin Held at UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Till. Nasrat fought hard but lost the match by a decision from the judges.
His next fight was planned for March 17, 2018. He was supposed to face Alex Reyes. However, Alex Reyes got injured and had to pull out. Nad Narimani was chosen as a replacement. But on the day of the fight, Nasrat was not allowed to compete. He had an eye infection and the medical team said he was not fit to fight.
First UFC Wins
Nasrat's first UFC victory came on July 22, 2018. He fought Marc Diakiese at UFC Fight Night 134. Nasrat won this fight by a unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed he was the winner.
He continued his winning streak on October 27, 2018. He faced Thibault Gouti at UFC Fight Night 138. Again, Nasrat won by unanimous decision. This exciting fight also earned him the Fight of the Night award. This bonus is given to fighters who put on a very entertaining match.
More Challenges and Victories
Nasrat was set to fight John Makdessi on March 23, 2019. But he had to withdraw from the fight due to an injury.
He returned to the octagon on August 3, 2019. He fought Joaquim Silva at UFC on ESPN 5. Nasrat won this fight by knockout in the second round. This impressive win earned him the Performance of the Night bonus. This award goes to a fighter who has an outstanding performance.
On January 18, 2020, Nasrat faced Drew Dober at UFC 246. He lost this fight by knockout in the first round.
Nasrat bounced back on August 8, 2020. He fought Alexander Muñoz at UFC Fight Night 174. He won the fight by unanimous decision.
He was scheduled to fight Arman Tsarukyan on January 24, 2021. This was for UFC 257. However, Nasrat became ill and had to pull out of the fight.
Another fight was scheduled for March 13, 2021. Nasrat was supposed to fight Don Madge. But Madge had visa problems and was replaced by Rafa García. Nasrat won this fight by unanimous decision.
Recent Fights
On September 25, 2021, Nasrat faced Dan Hooker at UFC 266. He lost the fight by unanimous decision.
He then fought Bobby Green on February 12, 2022, at UFC 271. Nasrat lost this bout by unanimous decision as well.
Nasrat returned to winning ways on September 3, 2022. He fought John Makdessi at UFC Fight Night 209. He won the fight by unanimous decision.
He was scheduled to fight Jamie Mullarkey on February 12, 2023. This was for UFC 284. However, Nasrat withdrew for a private reason. Francisco Prado took his place.
Nasrat was set to fight Sam Patterson on September 2, 2023. But Patterson had health issues and pulled out. Landon Quinones stepped in, and they fought a week later at UFC 293. Nasrat won by unanimous decision.
He faced Jamie Mullarkey on December 9, 2023, at UFC Fight Night 233. Nasrat won this fight by knockout in the first round. This earned him another Performance of the Night award.
On June 22, 2024, Nasrat fought Jared Gordon at UFC on ABC 6. He won the fight by a close split decision.
His most recent fight was on March 1, 2025. He faced Esteban Ribovics at UFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Almabayev. Nasrat won by split decision. This exciting match earned him another Fight of the Night award.

About His Life
Nasrat Haqparast studied mechanical engineering. He attended Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
When Nasrat first joined the UFC, some people thought he looked like another fighter, Kelvin Gastelum. They even compared their fighting styles.
In September 2021, Nasrat's mother passed away. This happened just weeks before his fight at UFC 266.
Nasrat used to fight under the Afghan flag in the UFC. However, he later announced that he was no longer allowed to do so. Starting from September 3, 2022, Nasrat decided to represent Morocco. This is because he trains and lives there.
