Mohammad Nasrat Haqparast, born on August 22, 1995, is a talented mixed martial artist. He is from Afghanistan and competes in the Lightweight division. Nasrat is a well-known fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Life and Training
Nasrat Haqparast was born in Germany. His parents were Afghan refugees from Kandahar, Afghanistan. When he was fourteen, his parents thought he was a bit overweight. They encouraged him to join kickboxing classes.
One day, Nasrat saw a mixed martial arts (MMA) sparring session. It was happening in the room next to his kickboxing class. He was so impressed that he decided right then to become an MMA fighter.
Mixed Martial Arts Career
Starting Out
Nasrat Haqparast began his professional MMA career in 2012. He quickly built an impressive record. He won eight fights and lost only one. This strong start helped him get noticed by the UFC.
Fighting in the UFC
Nasrat made his first appearance in the UFC on October 21, 2017. He fought against Marcin Held at UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Till. Nasrat lost this fight by a decision from the judges.
His next fight was supposed to be in March 2018. However, he had to pull out because of an eye infection. This meant he couldn't fight that day.
Nasrat returned to the octagon on July 22, 2018. He faced Marc Diakiese at UFC Fight Night 134. Nasrat won this fight by a unanimous decision. This was his first UFC win.
He then fought Thibault Gouti on October 27, 2018. This fight was at UFC Fight Night 138. Nasrat won again by unanimous decision. This exciting match also earned him the Fight of the Night award.
In August 2019, Nasrat fought Joaquim Silva at UFC on ESPN 5. He won this fight with a knockout in the second round. This impressive win earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.
Nasrat faced Drew Dober on January 18, 2020, at UFC 246. He lost this fight by knockout in the first round.
He bounced back on August 8, 2020, at UFC Fight Night 174. Nasrat won his fight against Alexander Muñoz by unanimous decision.
In March 2021, Nasrat fought Rafa García. He won this fight by unanimous decision.
Nasrat faced Dan Hooker on September 25, 2021, at UFC 266. He lost this fight by unanimous decision.
On February 12, 2022, Nasrat fought Bobby Green at UFC 271. He lost this match by unanimous decision.
He returned to winning ways on September 3, 2022. Nasrat defeated John Makdessi at UFC Fight Night 209 by unanimous decision.
In September 2023, Nasrat fought Landon Quinones at UFC 293. He won the fight by unanimous decision.
On December 9, 2023, Nasrat faced Jamie Mullarkey at UFC Fight Night 233. He won the fight with a knockout in the first round. This victory also earned him another Performance of the Night award.
Most recently, Nasrat fought Jared Gordon on June 22, 2024. This fight was at UFC on ABC 6. Nasrat won by a close split decision.
His next fight is planned for March 1, 2025. He is scheduled to face Esteban Ribovics at UFC Fight Night 253.

About His Life
Nasrat Haqparast studied mechanical engineering. He attended the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
When Nasrat first joined the UFC, many people noticed something interesting. They said he looked like another fighter, Kelvin Gastelum. Because of this, some media outlets often compared their fighting styles.
In September 2021, Nasrat went through a very tough time. His mother passed away just weeks before his fight at UFC 266.
Nasrat used to fight under the Afghan flag in the UFC. However, he later shared that he was no longer allowed to do so. Starting from September 3, 2022, Nasrat announced a change. He now represents Morocco in his fights. This is because he trains and lives there.
