British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year facts for kids
The British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year is a special award given each year in the UK. It celebrates the best books written for children. This award is part of the bigger British Book Awards, which are also known as the Nibbies.
The award started in 1996. It took the place of two older awards: the British Illustrated Children's Book of the Year and the British Children's Author of the Year. Currently, the store W H Smith helps to pay for the award. Before that, Red House sponsored it. The award was first called the "British Children's Book Award" but changed its name in 2010 to "Children's Book of the Year."
