Nepean Bay is a small place, also called a locality, in South Australia. It is located on the northern coast of Kangaroo Island. This area sits on the southern shore of Western Cove, which is part of the larger Nepean Bay.
Nepean Bay is about 128 kilometers (about 80 miles) southwest of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. It is also quite close to Kingscote, which is the main town on Kangaroo Island, located about 10 kilometers (about 6 miles) to the north-northeast.

History of Nepean Bay
The settlement in Nepean Bay was started in 1961. A company called Nepean Developments Ltd planned and built the first parts of the area. The official borders for Nepean Bay as a locality were set in May 2002. The name "Nepean Bay" comes from the nearby bay, which has been known by that name for a long time.
What is Nepean Bay Like?
Nepean Bay is mostly made up of land used for farming. There is a small settlement, which is a group of homes, mainly low buildings, located at the western end of the area.
An important natural spot, the Nepean Bay Conservation Park, is also found within this locality. It is about 1.5 kilometers (about 1 mile) east of the main settlement. This park helps protect the local environment and wildlife.
