Niederrohrdorf is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Baden district. It is part of the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. It's a lovely place with a mix of nature and settled areas.

History of Niederrohrdorf
Niederrohrdorf was first mentioned way back in 1179, when it was simply called Rordorf. Later, in 1275, it was referred to as Nidern Rordorf. This name helps us understand that it was the "lower" part of Rordorf. In 1854, the original municipality of Rohrdorf split into three separate towns: Niederrohrdorf, Oberrohrdorf, and Remetschwil.
Geography and Nature
Niederrohrdorf covers an area of about 3.3 square kilometers (about 1.3 square miles). A large part of this land, about 45%, is used for farming. Forests cover almost 30% of the area, providing green spaces and habitats for wildlife. About 24.5% of the land is developed with buildings and roads, while a small part (0.9%) consists of rivers or lakes.
The town is located at the western base of a hill called the Heitersberg. It's also known for its important moorland, which is a type of wetland with unique plants and animals. Besides the main village of Niederrohrdorf, there are also smaller communities called hamlets, like Holzrüti and Vogelrüti, along with scattered farmhouses.
