History of Nordheim
Nordheim was established in 1895. This happened when a railroad line was built and extended to that spot. A post office has been serving the community in Nordheim since 1896.
Geography of Nordheim
Nordheim is located in the southwestern part of DeWitt County. Its exact location is 28°55′24″N 97°36′48″W / 28.92333°N 97.61333°W.
Texas State Highway 72 runs along the southern edge of the city. This highway connects Nordheim to other towns. It goes northeast about 24 miles (39 km) to Cuero, which is the main city of the county. The highway also goes southwest about 17 miles (27 km) to Kenedy.
The United States Census Bureau states that Nordheim covers a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large bodies of water within the city limits.
