About Norwood's Development

Norwood started to be built up in the 1960s. It grew a lot during the 1970s and 1980s. You can find many different types of homes here. There are large, older family houses and also newer, more modern homes. These modern homes are mostly in the middle-eastern part of the suburb.

Norwood sits on a fairly flat area that is about 60 to 80 meters (200-260 feet) high. This area is like a raised flat land. To the east, you'll find the valley of the North Esk River. To the north is the Punchbowl Reserve, a natural park. To the west are the Carr Villa Flora Reserve, Carr Villa Cemetery, and the Kings Meadows Golf Course.
