Old age is a stage in life when people are older, usually after they have finished working. Many older people have retired from their jobs. Understanding Old Age
Changes in the Body
Older people often have more health issues than younger adults. This is because their bodies slowly change over time. Moving around can become harder. For example, a condition called Osteoporosis can make bones weaker. Many older adults take medicine to help manage their health.
Studying Old Age
The study of aging and the problems that come with it is called Gerontology. This part of medicine helps us understand how bodies change as they get older. It also looks at ways to help older people stay healthy and active.
Wisdom and Experience
Older people are sometimes called "senior citizens" or "elders." Many people believe elders are wise. This is because they have gained a lot of experience throughout their long lives. In many cultures, elders are treated with great respect and kindness. They often share their knowledge and stories with younger generations. This helps pass down important traditions and lessons.
