Olga's Professional Tennis Journey
2018: First Big Wins & Top 100 Ranking
In 2018, Olga started playing for Serbia in the Billie Jean King Cup. She won all her singles matches, even beating a top-ranked player. Her great effort earned her a special award called the Fed Cup Heart Award. She donated the prize money to a children's hospital.
Later that year, Olga won her first major professional title at the Moscow River Cup. This was a big deal because she was the first player born after the year 2000 to win a WTA Tour singles title! She also became only the second "lucky loser" (a player who didn't qualify but got into the main draw because someone else pulled out) to win a WTA title.
After these wins, Olga entered the top 100 tennis players in the world for the first time, reaching No. 96.
2021: Grand Slam Debuts
Olga made her first appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament at the Australian Open. She won her first match there but lost the next.
Later, she also played in the main draw of the US Open. She won her first match again but had to withdraw from her second match due to medical reasons.
2022: Reaching Another Final
At the French Open, Olga successfully made it through the qualifying rounds to play in the main tournament for the first time. She won her first match before losing in the second round.
In July, she reached her second career WTA final at the Ladies Open Lausanne in Switzerland. She played very well but was beaten in the final. At the same tournament, she won the doubles title with her partner, Kristina Mladenovic.
2023: Back to the Top 100
Olga continued to improve in 2023. She won a big tournament in Madrid, beating a strong opponent in the final.
At the French Open, she again qualified for the main draw and reached the third round. This was her best performance at a Grand Slam up to that point! Because of this success, she returned to the top 100 world rankings, reaching No. 93. She also won her first WTA 125 title in Sweden.
2024: French Open Fourth Round & New Title
Olga had an amazing run at the French Open. She qualified for the main draw and then won three matches to reach the fourth round. This was her best Grand Slam result ever! She was the first Serbian woman in many years to reach the second week of a Grand Slam. Her journey ended when she played against a top-ranked player.
In October, Olga won her second WTA Tour singles title at the Guangzhou Open in China. This was her first title on a hard court. She beat Caroline Dolehide in the final, which helped her reach the top 55 in the world rankings.
