Olga Danilović is a professional tennis player from Serbia. She was born on January 23, 2001. On July 14, 2025, she reached her highest singles ranking, becoming world No. 32. She also reached No. 104 in doubles on April 24, 2023. Olga is currently the top-ranked Serbian female singles player. She has won two singles titles and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour.

She has also won two singles titles and one doubles title on the WTA Challenger Tour. Additionally, she has won seven singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit. When playing for Serbia in the Billie Jean King Cup, she has a good record of 12 wins and 8 losses.

About Olga's Early Life

Olga Danilović comes from a family of athletes. Her father, Predrag Danilović, was a famous Serbian basketball player. Her mother, Svetlana, is a sports reporter for a TV station. Olga also has a younger sister named Sonja and a younger brother named Vuk.

Olga's Junior Tennis Career

As a junior player, Olga had a great record. She won 97 singles matches and lost 33. In doubles, she won 72 matches and lost 24. She reached her highest junior ranking of No. 5 in the world in January 2018.

She won three major doubles titles with different partners. These wins happened on different types of courts. She won the 2016 French Open with Paula Arias Manjón. Then, she won Wimbledon in 2017 with Kaja Juvan. Finally, she won the US Open in 2017 with Marta Kostyuk.

2018: Breaking into the Top 100

Olga started playing for Serbia in the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly Fed Cup) in February 2018. She won all three of her singles matches. This included a big win against world No. 15, Anastasija Sevastova. Her strong performances earned her a special Fed Cup#Heart Award. She donated the prize money to a children's hospital in Belgrade.

In March, she won her first professional title in Italy. In July, she won another title in Germany. She beat Laura Siegemund in the final.

Later in July, Olga won her first ever WTA Tour singles title in Moscow. She beat Anastasia Potapova in a close match. This made her the first player born after the year 2000 to win a WTA Tour singles title. She was also only the second "lucky loser" to win a WTA title. A lucky loser is a player who loses in the qualifying rounds but gets to play in the main tournament because another player drops out.

After this, she played in the US Open qualifying rounds. She also won a doubles title in Tashkent with her partner Tamara Zidanšek. On October 1, 2018, Olga entered the top 100 players in the world for the first time.

2021: Grand Slam Debuts

Olga played in the main draw of a major tournament for the first time at the Australian Open. She won her first match against Petra Martić but lost in the second round.

In July, she reached the quarterfinals in two tournaments in a row. First, at the Budapest Grand Prix, and then at the Palermo Ladies Open.

She also qualified for the US Open. She won her first match there. However, she had to withdraw from her second-round match due to medical reasons.

2022: French Open Debut and Another Final

At the French Open, Olga made it into the main tournament after winning her qualifying matches. She won her first match but lost in the second round.

Later, at the Ladies Open Lausanne, she reached her second career WTA final. She played very well, beating several strong players. In the final, she lost to Petra Martić. At the same tournament, she won the doubles title with her partner Kristina Mladenovic.

In September, Olga also won a doubles title at the WTA 125 Open delle Puglie with Elisabetta Cocciaretto.

2023: First WTA 125 Title and Back to Top 100

In May, Olga won her first big $100,000 title in Madrid. She beat Sara Sorribes Tormo in the final.

At the French Open, Olga qualified for the main draw again. She had her best Grand Slam performance yet, reaching the third round. She beat Jasmine Paolini and Kateryna Baindl. She lost a tough three-set match to the No. 7 seed, Ons Jabeur. Because of this great result, she returned to the top 100 players in the world. On June 26, 2023, she reached a new career-high ranking of No. 93.

In July, she won her first WTA 125 title at the 2023 Swedish Open in Sweden. She defeated the top seed, Emma Navarro, in the final.

2024: First Hardcourt Title

At the French Open, Olga qualified for the main tournament. She had an amazing run, beating Martina Trevisan, the 11th seed Danielle Collins, and Donna Vekić. This allowed her to reach the fourth round of a major tournament for the first time! She was the first Serbian woman to reach the second week of the French Open since 2015. Her journey ended when she lost to the fifth seed, Markéta Vondroušová.

She also played at Wimbledon as a lucky loser. In October, Olga reached her first WTA Tour hardcourt final at the Guangzhou Open in China. She won the final against Caroline Dolehide in straight sets. This was her second career WTA title, six years after her first one. This win helped her reach the top 55 in the world rankings.

2025: Reaching the Top 35

Olga started 2025 strong by reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time. She won against Arantxa Rus, the 25th seed Liudmila Samsonova, and the seventh seed Jessica Pegula. She then lost to Paula Badosa.

In March, Olga won the WTA 125 Antalya Challenger title in Turkey. She beat Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva in the final. After this victory, her ranking went up to world No. 35 on March 31, 2025.

In April, Olga reached the final of the Rouen Open in France. She played against the top-seeded Elina Svitolina but lost the match. This great result helped her reach a new career-high ranking of No. 34 on April 21, 2025.

Olga's Coaches

Over the years, Olga has worked with several coaches. In 2018, she hired Àlex Corretja, who used to be ranked No. 2 in the world. He had been her mentor since 2016. She has also been coached by others like Dejan Vraneš, Petar Popović, Juan Lizariturry, Denis Bejtulahi, and Tatjana Ječmenica.
