Omoni Oboli is a talented Nigerian actress, scriptwriter, film director, and producer. She was born on April 22, 1978. Omoni has created many movies, including The Figurine (2009) and Anchor Baby (2010). She also wrote and directed Wives on Strike (2016). In 2018, she starred in and directed the funny movie Moms at War.

Early Life and Education
Omoni Oboli was born in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Her family comes from Mosogar, a small village in Delta State, Nigeria. She went to primary and secondary school in Benin City.
After finishing secondary school, Omoni Oboli studied French at the University of Benin. She earned a bachelor's degree. Later, she went to the New York Film Academy to learn about digital editing.
Omoni Oboli's Career in Movies
Omoni started her acting career in 1996. Her first movie role was in Bitter Encounter, where she played a secretary. She then appeared in Shame. After that, she played the main female character in three big movies: Not My Will, Destined To Die, and Another Campus Tale.
After a short time in movies, Omoni left to finish her university studies. She got married right after school. She did not return to the movie industry for ten years. When she came back in 2009, she found it hard to get roles. This made her decide to start producing her own movies.
Writing and Producing Films
Omoni has written many movie scripts. One of her well-known films is Wives On Strike. She also co-produced a movie called The Rivals. This movie won an award for Best International Drama at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. It was the first Nigerian film to be shown at this festival since it began in 2003.
Omoni Oboli has played lead roles in popular films. These include The Figurine (2009), Anchor Baby (2010), Being Mrs Elliot, and Fifty (2015). She was the first actress from Nollywood (the Nigerian film industry) to win Best Actress awards at two international festivals in the same year (2010). She won these awards at the Harlem International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Movie Awards for her role in Anchor Baby.
Awards and Recognitions
In 2010, Omoni Oboli won the Best Actress Narrative Feature award at the Los Angeles Movie Awards. She also won Best Actress at the Harlem International Film Festival. In 2011, she was nominated for Best Actress in a leading role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
In 2014, she won the Big Screen Actress of the Year award at the ELOY Awards for her movie Being Mrs Elliott. She was also nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role (English) at the 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards.
In 2015, Omoni was named the Sun Nollywood "Personality of the Year". She has directed several movies, such as Being Mrs Elliot, The First Lady, Wives on Strike, and Okafor's Law.
On August 14, 2017, Omoni Oboli announced that she became a Brand ambassador for LandWey Investment Limited.
Legal Challenge
Omoni Oboli starred in the movie Okafor's Law. This movie was supposed to premiere on March 24, 2017. However, it could not be shown because of a court order. Oboli was accused of using parts of the script that someone else, Jude Idada, claimed to have written. The movie was later released on March 31, 2017.
Charity Work
Omoni Oboli started a charity organization called "The Omoni Oboli Foundation". She uses her fame to help women and children in need in Nigeria. Her foundation has done many projects, including feeding street children in Lagos.
