Ortis Deley (born 2 June 1973) is a British television presenter, actor, and radio DJ. He is also a comedian and singer. Ortis has family roots in Ghana and Nigeria.
He is well-known for hosting the Children's BBC Saturday morning show Live & Kicking. Since November 2021, he has been a presenter on The Gadget Show. He also co-presented Police Interceptors in the UK with Rick Edwards. Ortis appeared in a special episode of Police Interceptors. In this episode, he rode with the Cleveland and Durham police unit. He also watched how their control centre worked.

Early Life and Education
Ortis Deley grew up in London, England. He attended Ernest Bevin College in Tooting Bec. After school, Ortis went to the University of Sunderland. He studied for a degree in pharmacy and finished his studies in 1995.
While he was a contestant on a TV show called Blind Date, a talent manager noticed him. This helped him start his career in television.

Acting Roles
Ortis has appeared in several films and TV shows. In 2006, he had a small role in the movie Derailed. This film starred Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston. He also acted in the BBC drama series Doctors.
He performed in a play called Confusions by Alan Ayckbourn at the Leatherhead Theatre. Ortis also played a main character in the play Talkin' Loud at the Latchmere Theatre. In 2005, he voiced the character Tom in two Doctor Who spin-off audio plays. These were Wildthyme at Large and The Devil in Ms Wildthyme.
In 2006, he appeared as Derek in the British film Kidulthood. He also played a character on ITV's The Bill in 2007. Later, he played a policeman in the CBBC series Scoop.
Early TV Work
Ortis's first job in television was for LWT. He worked on a pilot breakfast show called Up Your Street. After that, he worked on Passport to Passion.
He became a main presenter for the cable and satellite channel Trouble. He hosted live shows twice a week. He also co-presented It's in the Jeans, a show about teenagers and relationships. Other shows he hosted included the chart show Blast, The T-Spot, and iPop. In 2000, he presented T-Nation, which was the first live TV show from the Topshop store in London.
From 1998 to 2000, Ortis toured with the Smash Hits Roadshow. He interviewed bands and shared backstage news. He also hosted the roadshow in 1999 and 2000.
Working with the BBC
After four years at Trouble, Ortis joined the BBC. He presented Short Change and then Live & Kicking. In 2001, he appeared on Lily Savage's Blankety Blank.
In 2002, he hosted Making It. This was a BBC show looking for a new children's presenter. He was also a key presenter on CBBC's daily show Xchange.
In 2003, Ortis provided the voice of Dongle the Rabbit for CBBC's online game about internet safety called Be SMART. He also presented Wonderful World of Weird on CBBC in 2007. He appeared in an episode of ChuckleVision in June 2007.
For BBC One, Ortis presented and reported on money and consumer topics for Short Change. He was the main presenter for this show from 1998 to 2005. He also presented Hype and Hype on the Road for BBC Choice (now BBC Three). On BBC One, he hosted Why 5, a science program for young people. He was also the presenter of CBBC's Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Later, Ortis presented X-perimental, another science series for CBBC. On BBC Radio 5 Live, Ortis hosted his own sports show. He interviewed British athletes getting ready for the Sydney Olympics in 2000. In 2008, Ortis returned to CBBC to co-present Best of Friends. In 2015, he joined other CBBC presenters to celebrate the 30th anniversary of CBBC.
The Gadget Show
Ortis Deley joined the popular technology show The Gadget Show in early 2009. He presented alongside Suzi Perry, Jon Bentley, and Jason Bradbury. His first appearance was in the "Road Trip Special" episode on 30 January 2009. He took over from Dallas Campbell.
In February 2012, the show changed its name to The Gadget Show: World Tour. It featured Jason Bradbury and Pollyanna Woodward. On 30 January 2014, it was announced that Ortis Deley would return to present The Gadget Show.
Radio and Other Appearances
In late 2010, Ortis started hosting a Sunday morning show on London's Choice FM radio station.
In July 2011, Ortis anchored Channel 4's live coverage of the IAAF World Athletics Championships. This event took place in Daegu, South Korea.
