Palo Pinto Mountains State Park is a huge area of land, over 4,000 acres, that is becoming a state park. It's located in Palo Pinto and Stephens County, Texas near the town of Strawn in Texas. This park is special because it's in a unique natural area called the Western Cross Timbers Ecoregion.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department bought this land in October 2011 to turn it into a park. Even though it's a state park, it's still being developed. This means it's not yet open for people to visit. The land used to be a ranch. Inside the park, you'll find Tucker Lake, which provides drinking water for the City of Strawn.
