Parker Canyon Lake is a cool lake in southeastern Arizona. It's about 28 miles (45 km) southwest of Sierra Vista. You can find it near the Huachuca Mountains, just 5 miles (8 km) north of the Mexico border.

This lake is actually a reservoir. This means it's a man-made lake created by a dam in Parker Canyon. The lake's facilities are managed by the Coronado National Forest. This forest is part of the United States Forest Service.

Fish Species and Fishing Fun

Parker Canyon Lake is a great spot for fishing! The lake is regularly stocked with different kinds of fish.

Types of Fish You Can Catch

From October to March, the lake gets new rainbow trout every month. There are also many channel catfish living and reproducing in the lake.

Other fish you might find include largemouth bass and bluegill. You can also spot green sunfish, redear sunfish, and black bullhead. Don't forget the yellow bullhead and tiny mosquitofish.

Fish That Have Come and Gone

Some fish, like Northern pike, used to be common but have disappeared. Other fish were stocked here in the past but didn't stay. These include coho salmon, red shiners, fathead minnows, and threadfin shad.
