Philip George Proctor (born July 28, 1940) is an American actor. He is famous for being a member of the Firesign Theatre, a comedy group. He has also lent his voice to many video games, movies, and TV shows.

Early Life and Education
Philip Proctor was born in Goshen, Indiana, on July 28, 1940. When he was four years old, his family moved to New York City. There, he started acting as a child on television. Later, he studied drama at Yale University and earned a degree.
Acting Career
Philip Proctor has had a long and successful career in acting. He won a special award called the Theatre World Award in 1964 for his performance in a play called The Amorous Flea.
Television and Film Roles
Proctor has appeared in many TV shows, even in small parts. Some of these include Daniel Boone, All in the Family, and Night Court. He also often added voices to movies later on, which is called "overdubbing."
Voice Acting Work
Philip Proctor is well-known for his voice acting. He has voiced characters in many cartoons and video games. For example, he was the voice of Howard DeVille in Rugrats and All Grown Up! on Nickelodeon. He also did voices for many Disney movies.
He lent his voice to the Power Rangers Time Force TV show. In video games, he voiced characters in Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and was The Professor and White Monkey in the Ape Escape series. He also voiced Russell Barnaby in Dead Rising and Dr. Warren Vidic in the Assassin's Creed games. You might also know his voice from Adventures in Odyssey, where he played Leonard Meltsner and Detective Don Polehaus.
Proctor was also the announcer for Big Brother for several seasons. In the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance video games, he voiced characters like Edwin Jarvis, Baron Mordo, and the Tinkerer. He continues to provide voices for Disney animated films.
Other Projects
Some of the comedy records by The Firesign Theatre, like Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers, have been turned into stage plays.
In 2017, Philip Proctor wrote a book about his life called Where's My Fortune Cookie?. He wrote it with Brad Schreiber. More recently, he has performed in sketches on a radio show called American Parlor Songbook. These sketches are called "Boomers on a Bench."
Personal Life
Philip Proctor has been married three times. His first two marriages were to actress Sheilah Wells and Norwegian TV producer Barbro Semmingsen. He was married to Melinda Peterson from 1992 until she passed away in 2023. His daughter with Barbro Semmingsen, Kristin Proctor, is also an actress.
