Jordan Timothy Jenks (born September 19, 1993), known as Pi'erre Bourne, is an American music producer, rapper, singer, songwriter, and audio engineer. He is famous for producing hit songs like "Magnolia" for Playboi Carti and "Gummo" for 6ix9ine in 2017. Both of these songs reached the top 30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Pi'erre Bourne has worked with many popular artists. These include Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Young Thug, Juice Wrld, Young Nudy, Trippie Redd, Kanye West, Drake, Nav, Duwap Kaine, and 21 Savage.

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Jordan Jenks grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. His mother's family came from Belize. During his summers, he visited his grandmother in South Jamaica, Queens. This is where he became interested in East Coast hip hop music.

He is related to Mobile Malachi, a reggae artist from Belize. He is also a cousin of the rapper Papoose. His uncle Dwight, who was a rapper and graphic artist, inspired him. Jenks started making beats in elementary school. He used a program called FL Studio on his uncle's computer.

His stage name, Pi'erre Bourne, comes from two things. One is a funny TV sketch called "Everyday French with Pierre Escargot." The other is the 2002 movie The Bourne Identity. In high school, he formed a rap group called The Bourne Ones. They shared their music online on a site called Imeem.

Music Career

After high school, Jenks studied graphic design at Winthrop University for a year. He then left college and lived with his grandparents in Queens. Later, he moved to Greenville, South Carolina with his father. He worked different jobs in stores.

When he was 18, his uncle told him to go to music school. So, Jenks moved to Atlanta to study sound engineering at the SAE Institute. Since the school didn't have dorms, Jenks lived in his Cadillac Escalade for a while.

While in school, he met and worked with DJ Burn One. DJ Burn One encouraged him to create his own music beats. He also became good friends with TM88 and the son of L.A. Reid, a music executive. Jenks worked as an intern at Hustle Gang Records. Then, he became a full-time engineer at Mad Studios in Atlanta. There, he met Young Nudy, who he often works with.

In 2015, Jenks started working as a sound engineer for Epic Records. He left a year later to focus on his own music. In 2016, he began releasing a series of mixtapes. These were called The Life of Pi'erre, named after Kanye West's album The Life of Pablo.

Rising to Fame

Jenks met Playboi Carti in February 2017. This happened after Carti used Jenks' "Wokeuplikethis" beat for a song. In March 2017, Pi'erre produced Playboi Carti's song "Magnolia." This song became a big hit, reaching number 29 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

In September 2017, he signed a record deal with Interscope Records. He also started his own music label called SossHouse. In 2018, he helped produce several songs on Kanye West's album Ye. He also produced the song "Watch" for Travis Scott, which featured Kanye West and Lil Uzi Vert. Playboi Carti's album Die Lit, which Pi'erre helped create, also came out in May 2018.

On May 8, 2019, Pi'erre Bourne and Young Nudy released their album Sli'merre. This album had 12 songs and featured artists like DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage, and Lil Uzi Vert. A music critic from Pitchfork described Pi'erre's music as having "airy video-game melodies with classic trap drums." He is also well-known for his unique producer tag. This is a short sound clip that plays at the beginning of his songs. It says, "Yo Pierre, you wanna come out here?" This sound comes from an episode of The Jamie Foxx Show.
