Piggabeen is a small town in the northern part of New South Wales, Australia. It's located within the Tweed Shire area.

This town is close to several other places. For example, it's about 1.2 kilometers (less than a mile) northeast of Cobaki Lakes. It also borders Cobaki to the southeast and Currumbin Valley to the northwest. Currumbin Valley is about 2 kilometers away and is across the state border in Queensland.

Piggabeen used to be a town mainly focused on dairy farming. Today, it has mostly larger homes with lots of land, often called "acreage homesites," and small hobby farms. The town has a valley that stretches northwest towards the Queensland border.

The Tweed Volcano Connection

Piggabeen and its valley are part of a huge natural wonder called the Tweed Shield Volcano. This was once a massive volcano, but now it's an "erosion caldera." This means the volcano's top has collapsed and worn away over time, forming a large basin. It's actually the biggest erosion caldera in the Southern Hemisphere! Mount Warning is a famous mountain nearby that used to be the center of this ancient volcano.
