David Bowden (born February 14, 1992), known professionally as Pink Sweat$, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He became well-known in 2018 with his first music collection, an EP called Volume 1. This EP featured his popular song "Honesty". His first full album, Pink Planet, came out in 2021.

His Early Life and Music Journey
David Bowden grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father was a minister, and his mother was a gospel singer. Because of his religious family, he only listened to Christian music until he was 17 years old. Later, he started listening to other artists like 50 Cent and Kanye West.
After high school, David had a health challenge. He battled a condition called achalasia for three years. This condition makes it hard for food and liquid to pass into the stomach. After he recovered, he decided to follow his dream of making music full-time.
How He Got His Name
David got his stage name, Pink Sweat$, because he often wore pink sweatpants. He was inspired by the artist Cam'ron. People started calling him "Pink Sweats," and the name stuck!
Starting His Music Career
David began making music when he was 19. He worked as a demo vocalist at Sigma Sound Studios. This is where he found his love for writing songs. He started to build his career in music. He even produced music for other artists, like rapper Tierra Whack and country duo Florida Georgia Line.
His First Big Songs
On July 12, 2018, Pink Sweat$ released his first song called "Honesty". This song quickly became popular on music streaming sites. It reached number 10 on Spotify's US Viral Chart. Its popularity grew even more after it was added to Spotify's "Are & Be" playlist. Later, a new version of the song came out, featuring singer Jessie Reyez.
He then released another song, "No Replacing You," on July 26. His first music collection, Volume 1, came out on November 2, 2018. He also released a music video for his song "Drama" that same month.
More Music Collections
After Volume 1, Pink Sweat$ released a follow-up collection called Volume 2. Both of these EPs had five songs each. David chose to make short songs that were perfect for streaming online.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays for his first full album. Instead, he released an EP called The Prelude.
His First Album: Pink Planet
In February 2021, Pink Sweat$ finally released his first album, Pink Planet. He had been working on this album for about a year, starting in late 2019.
In January 2021, a new version of his album's song "At My Worst" was released. This version featured the singer Kehlani. Pink Sweat$ and Kehlani performed the song together on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 10, 2021.
Pink Sweat$ also performed at the 14th Seoul Jazz Festival on May 25, 2022.
His Personal Life
David Bowden got engaged to his girlfriend, JL Bunny, in March 2021. They got married on August 21, 2022.
