Police Academy (also known as Police Academy: The Animated Series) is a fun animated television series from 1988. It's based on the popular Police Academy movies. Ruby-Spears Enterprises and Warner Bros. Animation created the show. It aired on weekdays and had two seasons with a total of 65 episodes.
The show features some new characters. One is a crime boss named Kingpin, who is very smart and big. There's also a group of talking police dogs called the Canine Corps. They include Samson (a bulldog leader), Lobo (a husky), Bonehead (a giant St. Bernard), Chilipepper (a tiny chihuahua), and Schitzy (a golden retriever who sometimes gets confused about who she is).
The theme song, "They Wear the Blue," was sung by The Fat Boys. They even appeared in two episodes as friends of the character House. The music from the movies was also used at the end of each episode.
The animated series was very popular in other countries, especially in Europe like Italy. It was also a big hit in the Arab world, where it was shown on Spacetoon. In Japan, it aired on TV Tokyo and TV Asahi.

What is the show about?
This animated series takes place between the fourth and fifth Police Academy movies. It follows a team of funny police academy graduates. These officers are led by Carey Mahoney, a clever and mischievous guy. He often finds ways to annoy Captain Harris and his clumsy assistant, Sgt. Proctor.
Mahoney's friends include Moses Hightower, who is super strong. There's also Larvell Jones, who can make amazing sound effects. Eugene Tackleberry loves weapons, and Laverne Hooks is sweet and shy. Debbie Callahan is tough and beautiful. House is a huge, friendly guy, and Zed McGlunk is a bit wild, often with his best friend Carl Sweetchuck.
Commandant Eric Lassard is the kind and easygoing leader of the Academy. A new character, The Professor, invents many cool gadgets. The K-9 Corps, a group of police dogs, also helps the team. They all work together to fight villains like Kingpin, Numbskull, The Claw, Mr. Sleaze, Lockjaw, and Amazona.
