Pontedera is a town in Tuscany, Italy. It's located in the province of Pisa. The town is known for its factories and businesses.
Pontedera is famous because the Piaggio company is based there. Since the 1930s, Piaggio has made important vehicles. These include the Vespa scooter and the Ape (a small three-wheeled truck). Piaggio used to be part of Fiat. Today, Roberto Colaninno owns the company.
The town is in the Arno valley. It sits where the Era River meets the Arno River. Pontedera also has a small lake in Pietroconti, called Braccini lake.
