Poplar is a village in Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 603 at the 2010 census.
U.S. Highway 2, County Road D, and County Road P are the main routes in the community.
Geography
Poplar is located at 46°34′55″N 91°47′37″W / 46.58194°N 91.79361°W (46.582014, -91.793712).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 11.93 square miles (30.90 km2), of which, 11.90 square miles (30.82 km2) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2) is water.
Poplar is located 18 miles east of the city of Superior.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 603 people, 229 households, and 172 families living in the village. The population density was 50.7 inhabitants per square mile (19.6/km2). There were 254 housing units at an average density of 21.3 per square mile (8.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 94.5% White, 0.3% African American, 1.7% Native American, 1.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 2.2% from two or more races.
There were 229 households, of which 37.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 24.9% were non-families. 18.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 2.91.
The median age in the village was 39 years. 26.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.7% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.8% were from 25 to 44; 25.9% were from 45 to 64; and 15.6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 49.6% male and 50.4% female.
Education
The Maple School District serves Poplar. Northwestern Elementary School and Northwestern Middle School are in Poplar. Northwestern High School is in neighboring Maple.
