Preston is a small community in Webster County, Georgia, in the United States. It's about 17 miles west of Americus. In the year 2000, about 453 people lived there. Preston used to be an official town from 1857 until 2009. It is also the main town, or county seat, for Webster County.

History of Preston
Preston was started in 1856. It became the main town, or county seat, for Webster County. In 1857, it officially became a town. Later, in 1977, it was recognized as a city. However, in 2009, Preston stopped being a separate city. It became part of the larger government of Webster County.

Preston is located at 32°3′39″N 84°32′18″W / 32.06083°N 84.53833°W.
Highways in Preston
Several important roads go through Preston. These include U.S. Route 280 and Georgia State Route 41, along with Georgia State Route 153.
- U.S. Route 280 runs east to west through Preston. It's known as Hamilton Street. This road goes about 9 miles east to Plains and 9 miles west to Richland.
- GA-41 goes from south to north. For a short part, it shares the same path as U.S. 280 in the downtown area. GA-41 leads about 19 miles north to Buena Vista and 9 miles southwest to Weston.
- GA-153 starts just north of Preston. It goes northeast about 20 miles to Ellaville.
