A Prime Minister is the head of government in many countries. They lead the cabinet of ministers and help run the country. In Sudan, this important role has changed names over the years.
The position was first called "Chief Minister" in 1952. Then, from 1956 onwards, it became known as "Prime Minister." This role was removed in 1989 after a change in government. It was brought back in 2017.
Currently, Osman Hussein is the acting Prime Minister of Sudan. He took office on January 19, 2022.
