Primrose Lake is a large lake located in Canada. It sits right on the border between two Canadian provinces: Saskatchewan and Alberta. Most of the lake's water is found in Saskatchewan. It is also quite close to another well-known body of water, Cold Lake.
This lake covers a total area of about 448 km2 (173 sq mi). Out of this, 444 km2 (171 sq mi) is water. Only a small part of the water, about 17.7 km2 (6.8 sq mi), is in Alberta. Primrose Lake is located 559 m (1,834 ft) above sea level. The lake is connected to Cold Lake by the Martineau River.

A Look at Its Past Use
From 1970 to 1981, Primrose Lake was used as a special place to launch small rockets. These rockets were called "sounding rockets," like the Super Loki and Arcas types. They were launched to study the atmosphere and space.
