Province Lake: A Special Border Lake

Province Lake is unique because it's shared by two states. It's a popular spot for people who love nature and outdoor activities. The lake is known for its clean water and the many different animals that call it home.

Where is Province Lake?

This lake is located in the northeastern part of the United States. It forms a natural boundary between New Hampshire and Maine. You can find it in Carroll County, New Hampshire and York County, Maine.

What Makes Province Lake Special?

Province Lake is quite shallow, with a maximum depth of about 17 feet (5.2 m). This means it doesn't have very cold water at the bottom. Because of this, you won't find fish that need very cold water to live here. The lake gets its water from several wet areas, like swamps, and from a stream called Hobbs Brook. It also gets water from springs hidden under the lake. The water quality in Province Lake is very good.

What Lives in the Lake?

Province Lake is a "warmwater fishery." This means it's a great place for fish that prefer warmer water. Many different kinds of animals live in and around the lake.
