Qaem Shahr (pronounced "Gha-em Shahr") is an important city in the Mazandaran province of Iran. It is the main city of Qaem Shahr County. Before 1979, the city was called Ŝâhi. After the Iranian Revolution in 1979, its name was changed to Qaem Shahr.

Qaem Shahr has grown a lot over the years. In 1951, about 18,000 people lived there. By 1991, this number had grown to over 123,000.

Where is Qaem Shahr?
Qaem Shahr is located about 228 kilometers (142 miles) northeast of Tehran, the capital of Iran. You can reach it by following Road 79. The city is also close to other important cities in Mazandaran province. It is 19 kilometers (12 miles) southeast of Babol and 23 kilometers (14 miles) southwest of Sari, which is the capital of the province.
This city is a key spot for the North Iranian railway. It's where the railway leaves the flat plains of Mazandaran. Then, it begins to cross the Alborz mountains. These are the highest mountains in the Middle East.

Qaem Shahr has a mild climate. Summers are generally warm, and winters are cool. The city receives a good amount of rain throughout the year. This helps keep the area green and fertile.
