Quaboag Pond is a large pond in Massachusetts, USA. It covers about 537 acres (2.17 square kilometers). You can find it near the towns of East Brookfield and Brookfield, Massachusetts. It's about two miles (3 km) south of Route 9. Long ago, this pond was known as Podunk Pond.

About Quaboag Pond
This pond is not very deep. Its average depth is about 7 feet (2.13 meters). The deepest parts are around 10 feet (3.05 meters) deep. The water in Quaboag Pond looks brown. It can get quite warm during the summer months.
Plants and Surroundings
Many plants grow in Quaboag Pond. Some of these plants are not native to the area. This means they were brought here from other places. These "invasive" plants cover a lot of the pond. The pond is also in a swampy area. This swampy land also has many of these non-native plants.
Water Flow and Connections
Quaboag Pond gets its water from nearby swamps. It also gets water from the East Brookfield River. This river is about two miles (3.22 km) long. It starts at the Lake Lashaway Dam. Water also flows into Quaboag Pond from Quacumquasit Pond, which is to its south.
Some people call the East Brookfield River the Seven Mile River. However, it's actually the Five Mile River that forms Lake Lashaway. Lake Lashaway then feeds the East Brookfield River. Quaboag Pond is part of the larger Chicopee River Watershed. This means all the water from the pond eventually flows into the Quaboag River.
Fishing in Quaboag Pond
The waters that flow into Quaboag Pond offer great fishing. Many types of warm-water fish live here. A study done in 1994 found thirteen different kinds of fish.
