Ramadan Sobhi Ramadan Ahmed (Arabic: رَمَضَان صُبْحِيّ رَمَضَان أَحْمَد) is an Egyptian professional footballer. He was born on January 23, 1997. He plays as a forward for the Egyptian Premier League club Pyramids.
Ramadan Sobhi started his football journey with Al Ahly SC, a top club in Egypt. He played his first professional game in February 2014. He quickly became an important player for Al Ahly. He helped them win the Egyptian Premier League title in 2014 and 2016. His great skills caught the eye of European clubs. In July 2016, he moved to the English team Stoke City. After two seasons with Stoke, he joined Huddersfield Town in June 2018. He later returned to Al Ahly on loan before joining Pyramids FC in September 2020.

Ramadan Sobhi's Club Career
Early Days at Al Ahly
Ramadan Sobhi grew up playing in the youth teams of Al Ahly in Cairo. He made his first professional appearance at just 17 years old. This was on February 6, 2014, in a league match against Ghazl El Mahalla.
In April 2014, he played in a friendly tournament in the UAE. His talent even got the attention of the Spanish club Atlético Madrid. He scored his first goal for Al Ahly on June 16, 2014, in a 3–0 win. He also helped his team win a big match against their rivals, Zamalek, on June 28, 2014. Al Ahly went on to win the league title that season. In March 2015, Sobhi signed a long-term contract with the club.
Winning with Al Ahly
Sobhi helped Al Ahly win the 2014 Egyptian Super Cup against Zamalek. He became a regular player and his skills in the 2014–15 season attracted many European clubs. These included famous teams like Arsenal and Roma. He scored an important goal against Al-Masry in January 2015.
He gained international attention in July 2015 during a match against Zamalek. He stood on the ball, which made a Zamalek player upset and get sent off. Al Ahly finished second in the league that season. He repeated this action in the 2015 Egyptian Super Cup, which also upset the opposing team. Al Ahly won that match 3–2, and he later said sorry for his actions. In April 2016, he received his first red card in a game against ENPPI. Sobhi played in 28 league games in the 2015–16 season. Playing in England: Stoke City
Ramadan Sobhi joined the Premier League club Stoke City on July 25, 2016. The transfer fee was about £5 million. He played his first Premier League game on August 20, 2016, against Manchester City.
He made his first assist for Stoke on October 31, 2016, in a 3–1 win. His cross led to an own goal by a Swansea City player. He started his first Premier League match against West Ham United. This made him the first teenager to start a league game for Stoke in nine years. After playing in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, Sobhi played well in home wins. He played 19 games in the 2016–17 season, and Stoke finished 13th.
More Goals and Relegation
Before the 2017–18 season, Sobhi signed a new five-year contract with Stoke. He scored his first goal for Stoke on August 23, 2017. This was in a 4–0 EFL Cup win against Rochdale. He scored his first Premier League goal on December 23, 2017, against West Bromwich Albion. He scored again against Huddersfield Town in a 1–1 draw. Sobhi played 27 games in 2017–18. Unfortunately, Stoke was moved down to the EFL Championship that season.
Time at Huddersfield Town
Sobhi moved to Huddersfield Town on June 12, 2018. He signed a three-year deal. However, he did not play much for Huddersfield. He only made four appearances before going back to Egyptian football in January 2019.
Coming Back to Egypt
On December 28, 2018, Sobhi returned to his former club Al Ahly. He joined them on a six-month loan from Huddersfield. He extended his loan for the 2019–20 season. Later, on September 7, 2020, Sobhi made a permanent move to the club Pyramids FC.
Ramadan Sobhi's International Career
Ramadan Sobhi made his debut for the Egyptian national team on June 14, 2015. This was against Tanzania in a qualifying match for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. He was only 17 years old, making him one of the youngest players ever for Egypt.
On March 29, 2016, he scored his first goal for the national team. This was in a qualifying game against Nigeria. In January 2017, he was chosen to be part of the Egyptian squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Sobhi often came on as a substitute in the tournament. Egypt reached the final but lost to Cameroon. In May 2018, he was included in Egypt's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
In November 2019, he was the captain of the Egypt national under-23 football team. They played in the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, which Egypt hosted. Egypt won their first title by beating Ivory Coast 2–1 in the final. Ramadan scored the second goal in extra time. He was also named the best player of the tournament.

Ramadan Sobhi has shared that he supports the Spanish football club Real Madrid. He is married to Habiba Ekramy. She is the sister of his Pyramids and national teammate Sherif Ekramy. Her father is Ahly legend Ekramy El-Shahat.
