The zoo first opened its doors as Peel Zoo. In 2012, a few Tasmanian devils got out of their enclosure. This news was even talked about across Australia!

In August 2019, the zoo got a new name and a new owner. It became Ranger Red's Zoo and Conservation Park. The new owner is Bradley Holland, who is also known as "Ranger Red." He was inspired to work with animals from a young age. He looked up to famous animal experts like Harry Butler and Gerald Durrell.
