Ray Fisher, born on September 8, 1987, is an American actor. He is famous for playing the superhero Victor Stone / Cyborg in the DC Extended Universe movies. This includes the film Justice League from 2017.
On television, he appeared in the third season of the crime drama True Detective in 2019. He also starred in the short series Women of the Movement in 2022. Ray Fisher first performed on Broadway in 2022 in the play The Piano Lesson. He also acted in the 2024 movie version of the same play.

Ray Fisher's Early Life and School Days
Ray Fisher was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on September 8, 1987. He grew up in Lawnside, New Jersey. His mother and grandmother raised him there.
Fisher went to Haddon Heights High School. During that time, he worked at a movie theater's snack stand. His English and history teachers helped him get into musical theater. He performed in school plays like Into the Woods and Guys and Dolls. After high school, Fisher studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Ray Fisher started his acting career in theater. In 2008, he played Dr. Marcus Blake in a musical called Attorney for the Damned. The next year, he acted in William Shakespeare's play Macbeth. He performed at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey.
Early Theater Roles and Training
Fisher had a small part in the play Fetch Clay, Make Man in 2010. He also performed in To Kill a Mockingbird at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. He was part of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. There, he acted in plays like King Lear and Cymbeline.
In 2013, Fisher played the famous boxer Muhammad Ali in the play Fetch Clay, Make Man. This was an off-Broadway show in New York City. To get ready for the role, he worked out a lot. He said he had to "lift—bench presses, curls, squats, calf raises" to build muscle.
Becoming Cyborg in the DC Universe
Ray Fisher first appeared as the superhero Victor Stone / Cyborg in the 2016 movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Cyborg was the first Black superhero in the DC Extended Universe movies.
He played Cyborg again in the 2017 movie Justice League. This movie had many famous actors. In 2020, Fisher spoke about some disagreements during the filming of Justice League. These issues led to him not appearing in a planned movie called The Flash.
Fisher returned as Cyborg in Zack Snyder's Justice League. This was a new version of Justice League released in 2021. Critics praised his acting in this version. They noted his strong and emotional performance as Cyborg.
Television and Broadway Success
In 2019, Fisher starred in the third season of the TV series True Detective on HBO. He played Henry Hays in this show. In 2022, he played Gene Mobley in the ABC series Women of the Movement. Gene Mobley was the husband of activist Mamie Till-Mobley.
