Remaufens is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Fribourg. Remaufens is part of the Veveyse district.

History of Remaufens
Remaufens was first mentioned in old writings around the year 1000. Back then, it was known by the name Romulfens.
Geography of Remaufens
Remaufens covers an area of about 5.9 square kilometers (2.3 square miles). A large part of this land, about 67.5%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 25.2% of the area.
Around 6.6% of Remaufens is built up with buildings and roads. A very small part, 0.3%, is made up of rivers or lakes. The town is located on a hill. It is found along the road that connects Châtel-Saint-Denis and Palézieux.
Remaufens Coat of Arms
The official design for the town's coat of arms is quite special. It shows a black eagle on a gold background at the top. Below that, there is a white cross on a red background. This cross is called a "cross bottony" because its ends look like three-leaf clovers.
