What the Show is About
Rescue Heroes is all about a group of heroes who save lives around the world. They deal with both natural disasters, like floods, and human-made problems, like fires.
Their main base is called the Mountain Action Command Center. This is where the team leader, Billy Blazes, lives with his team. The team includes Wendy Waters, Jake Justice, Jack Hammer, Ariel Flyer, and Rocky Canyon. When someone needs help, calls come into the command center through Warren Waters. He is the director and chief dispatcher for the Rescue Heroes.
The TV show teaches you how to handle emergency situations. It also shows how to deal with everyday problems, like arguments. At the end of most episodes, the Rescue Heroes share safety tips. They also talk about how to solve the problems shown in the episode. Each episode usually ends with their motto: "Think like a Rescue Hero, think safe."
Meet the Heroes
Main Characters
- Billy Blazes (Norm Spencer) - Billy is a firefighter from Quebec. He is the leader of the Rescue Heroes. He even helped pick the other members of the team! Billy has a younger brother, Bobby, and a father. Billy and his father had some disagreements. This was because Bobby chose to be a firefighter like Billy, instead of a construction worker. In one episode, "Flashback to Danger," we learned Billy became a Rescue Hero after saving kids from a burning carnival ride.
- Wendy Waters (Lenore Zann) - Wendy is also a firefighter and is like the second-in-command. Her father, Warren, is a Rescue Hero who works at a space station. Wendy was chosen for the team after a news report showed her helping at a factory fire.
- Jake Justice (Martin Roach) - Jake is a police officer. He joined the Rescue Heroes after he caught a wanted criminal during a car chase that was on TV. In the newer Rescue Heroes series, it's mentioned he has a relative named Sky Justice.
- Richmond "Rocky" Canyon (Joseph Motiki) - Rocky is a mountain climbing expert. He is the youngest member of the team. Billy once thought about leaving the Rescue Heroes. But Rocky, through an audition video, convinced him to stay. This made Billy decide to hire Rocky. The episode "Twister" showed that Rocky is from Oklahoma and that his father had passed away.
- Ariel Flyer (Lisa Messinger in season one, Deborah Odell in seasons two and three) - Ariel is great with flying and wildlife. She can speak two languages! She used to be a stunt pilot and had a rival named Avery Ator. Avery wasn't always safe, so Ariel had to rescue him twice.
- Jack Hammer (Rod Wilson) - Jack is a construction worker from Texas. He was first hired to build the Rescue Heroes' base. But he saved a fellow worker in a crane accident. Because of this, he got the chance to join the Rescue Heroes. Jack has a younger sister named Jill, who is a firefighter in Texas.
