SunRice is a very large company that makes and sells rice products all over the world. It's also known as Ricegrowers Limited. SunRice is one of Australia's top companies for sending food to other countries. In 2023, the company made about A$1.6 billion in sales.
The SunRice Group has many different businesses and offices. You can find them in Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, the United States, and parts of Asia. They have about 35 main brands and sell their products in around 50 countries. More than 2,000 people work for SunRice.
Most of Australia's rice is grown in the southern part of New South Wales. SunRice's main office is in Leeton, and they also have an office in Sydney. They have rice mills in Leeton, Deniliquin, and Coleambally. SunRice also has factories that make animal feed in Leeton, Tongala, and Cobden.
In 2020, the SunRice Group celebrated its 70th birthday! That same year, their CopRice business changed the Coleambally Mill into a special factory that makes food for animals like cows. It's the biggest of its kind in Australia.

What SunRice Makes
SunRice makes over 700 different products! These range from regular rice for cooking and rice flour, to yummy snacks and quick rice meals. They also make food for pets and farm animals.
Usually, about 80% of the Australian rice crop is sent overseas. It goes to places like Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the Middle East.
In 2017, more people in Australia started buying SunRice's microwave rice meals. This helped the company sell a lot more snack foods in Australia.
To make sure they always have enough rice, even when Australian farms don't grow as much, SunRice also gets rice from other countries. This helps farmers in the Riverina region of Australia focus on growing special kinds of rice that earn them more money. For example, in 2016/17, SunRice bought a lot of rice from Vietnam and even opened an office there.

CopRice: Animal Food
CopRice has been making food for animals for over 30 years. Their factories are in Leeton, Tongala, and Cobden. CopRice started because they had extra parts of rice, like rice pollard, which is good for animal food. Now, they use many different ingredients, not just rice. CopRice also makes food for pets.
Riviana Foods: Gourmet Treats
Riviana Foods is a company that sells and markets fancy foods. SunRice owns it. Riviana Foods sells the most olives and pickled vegetables in Australian shops. They have popular brands like Always Fresh, Felhbergs, Admiral, Captain, Riviana, and Mahatma. Riviana Foods also sells a lot of food to restaurants and cafes, with brands like Riviana, Menu Master, Garden Supreme, and Ocean Supreme.
Trukai Industries: Rice in Papua New Guinea
Trukai is a company that packages, distributes, and sells rice products. SunRice owns two-thirds of Trukai. The rest is owned by the people of Papua New Guinea (PNG) through a fund called the Pacific Balanced Fund.
SunRice started Trukai in 1970. Trukai has well-known brands like Trukai and Roots Rice. Trukai's main office and factory are in Lae, with a marketing office in Port Moresby. They have distribution centers all over Papua New Guinea. Over 1,000 people work for Trukai in the country.
SolRice: Solomon Islands Rice
Solrice is a company located in the Solomon Islands. It handles the distribution, sales, and marketing of rice. SunRice owns Solrice completely.
SunFoods: Rice in the USA
SunFoods is a company that mills (processes) rice and then distributes and markets it. SunRice bought SunFoods, which started in 2008. SunFoods owns the Hinode brand, which was created in the 1930s in California. The Hinode brand is very popular for medium-grain rice in the USA. You can find it in stores like Walmart, WinCo Foods Stores, and Kruger. SunFoods' main office and milling factory are in Woodlands, California.
AGS: Storing Grains
AGS is a company fully owned by SunRice. It owns and runs large storage places for grains in the Riverina region. These places can hold over 1 million tonnes of grain!
RRAPL: Rice Research
Rice Research Australia Pty Ltd (RRAPL) is a company completely owned by SunRice. It does research and development on rice varieties and how to grow rice better. They work with the NSW Department of Primary Industries and the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC). RRAPL uses a farm in the Riverina for its research activities.
