Richardton is a city in Stark County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 529 at the 2010 census. Richardton was founded in 1883. It is part of the Dickinson Micropolitan Statistical Area.

As of the census of 2010, there were 529 people, 247 households, and 153 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,469.4 inhabitants per square mile (567.3/km2). There were 285 housing units at an average density of 791.7 per square mile (305.7/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.3% White, 0.8% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.6% from other races, and 0.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.3% of the population.
There were 247 households of which 23.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.2% had a male householder with no wife present, and 38.1% were non-families. 34.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 15% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.14 and the average family size was 2.73.
The median age in the city was 45.9 years. 19.5% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.7% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21% were from 25 to 44; 32.6% were from 45 to 64; and 18.3% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 50.1% male and 49.9% female.
As of the census of 2000, there were 619 people, 251 households, and 168 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,686.7 people per square mile (645.9/km2). The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 3.00.
