Risch is a town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Zug. The official name is Risch-Rotkreuz. This municipality includes four villages: Rotkreuz, Risch, Buonas, and Holzhäusern. The name was changed to Risch-Rotkreuz in 2007. This happened because the village of Rotkreuz grew much larger than Risch.

Geography of Risch-Rotkreuz
This municipality is located between the Lake of Zug and the Reuss river. In the south, part of the Rooterberg mountain is within the municipality. Many small rivers and two small lakes flow through Risch-Rotkreuz.
The total area of Risch-Rotkreuz is about 22.9 square kilometers (8.8 square miles). A large part of the land, about 61%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 15.4% of the area. Around 21.3% of the land has buildings or roads. The remaining small part, 2.4%, is made up of non-productive areas like rivers.
