History of Hünenberg
Hünenberg was first mentioned in old writings around 1173. Back then, it was called de Hunberg. Some people think this first mention might not be real, like a fake document.
Later, in 1185, it was called de Hunoberg. In 1239, the name changed slightly to de Hunaberc. These old names help us understand how the town's name developed over many centuries.
Geography and Landscape
Hünenberg covers an area of about 18.4 square kilometers (about 7.1 square miles). A large part of this land, about 63.4%, is used for farming. This means there are many fields and farms in the area.
About 17% of Hünenberg is covered by forests. These green areas are important for nature and offer places for people to explore. About 12.3% of the land has buildings and roads. The remaining 7.3% includes natural features like rivers.
