Rumeal Robinson's Early Life

Rumeal Robinson was born in Mandeville, Jamaica. When he was a toddler, his mother moved to the Boston area in the United States. Rumeal stayed in Jamaica and was cared for by his grandparents.

Growing Up in Cambridge

In 1977, a kind local couple, Helen and Lou Ford, took him in. They officially adopted him in 1978. Rumeal grew up to be a talented basketball player at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He led his high school team to win a state championship in 1986.
