Rupert is a city in Idaho, USA. It is the main city and county seat of Minidoka County. In 2020, about 6,082 people lived there.
Rupert was started in 1906. It grew quickly after the Minidoka Reclamation Project was announced. This project brought water for farms and electricity to the area. This happened after the Minidoka Dam was finished on the Snake River in 1906. Rupert was one of the first cities in the world to have its streets lit by electricity.

Rupert's Location and Surroundings
Rupert is in the southern part of Minidoka County. It is about 4,157 feet (1,267 meters) above sea level. The city is part of a farming area called Magic Valley on the Snake River Plain. The Snake River is about 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Rupert.
Interstate 84 is about 5 miles (8 km) south of the city. Before this highway was built, U.S. Route 30 went through Rupert. Other nearby towns include Acequia to the northeast and Paul to the west.
The United States Census Bureau says Rupert covers about 2.06 square miles (5.33 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.
