Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz was a town in Switzerland. It was located in the Vaud area, in a district called Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut. On January 1, 2022, Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz joined with the nearby town of Blonay. They are now one new town called Blonay - Saint-Légier.

History of Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz
The town of Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz was first written about in the year 1228. Back then, it was known as Sanctus Leodegarus.
Geography and Landscape
Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz covers an area of about 15.2 square kilometers (5.9 square miles). A large part of this land, about 34%, is used for farming. Forests cover an even bigger part, around 45.4% of the area. About 19.3% of the land has buildings or roads on it. A small amount, less than 1%, is made up of rivers or lakes.
Most of the built-up areas include houses and other buildings (48.7%). Roads and other transport areas make up 34.2%. In the forests, most of the land is covered with thick trees.
Until 2006, Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz was part of the Vevey District. After that, it became part of the new Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut district. The town is made up of two main villages, Saint-Légier and La Chiésaz, along with several smaller communities called hamlets.
