Salton Sea Beach is a small community in Imperial County, California. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a place that the U.S. Census Bureau counts as a separate area for statistics.

Salton Sea Beach is located about 2.5 miles (4 km) southeast of Desert Shores. In 2020, 508 people lived there. This number has grown over the years. In 2010, there were 422 people, and in 2000, there were 392. This community is part of the larger El Centro, California area. It was once home to a military air station called the Naval Auxiliary Air Station Salton Sea.

Where is Salton Sea Beach Located?

Salton Sea Beach is found along the western edge of the Salton Sea. It is north of Salton City and south of Desert Shores. You can reach it by following California State Route 86.

The Salton Sea is a very unique lake. It has a lot of salt, much more than the ocean! Around the lake, you'll find salt flats. These are flat areas of land covered in salt. The salt is so soft you can easily break it with your hand.
