Early Life and Education

Sapna Bhavnani was born in Mumbai, India. She grew up in the Bandra neighborhood, where she was known for being a good student and a bit of a tomboy. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle to school and playing pranks. When she was 18, her father, a businessman, passed away.

After her father's death, her family faced money problems. Sapna decided to leave her college in Mumbai and move to the United States in 1989. An aunt helped her move to Chicago. There, she worked as a waitress and went to business school at Barat College. She studied Marketing and Communication.

Sapna was also interested in fashion design. Later, she discovered a passion for hairdressing and decided to make it her career. In 2002, after living in the U.S. for several years, she visited India and decided to move back.

When Sapna returned to Mumbai, she first worked as a hairdresser at a salon called "Juice." She also became a stylist for Bollywood stars. For three years, she wrote a column for the Mumbai Mirror newspaper and later for Mid-Day.

In 2004, she opened her own hair salon, Mad-O-Wot, in Mumbai. She started with a team of five people. In 2011, she opened a second salon in the Andheri area of Mumbai.

Sapna has styled many famous people from movies, sports, and business. Some of her clients include Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan, and cricket stars like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli. She also worked with actor Ranveer Singh for the movie Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.

Acting and Film Production

In 2010, Sapna started her own production company called Mad-O-Wot Productions. The company makes music videos, commercials, and short films. One of her first projects was a new music video for the Indian national anthem. The video featured regular people from the streets of India and was released on India's Independence Day.

Her company has also produced music videos for bands and artists like Kailash Kher. In 2020, she appeared in a Kashmiri music video called "JANAAN."

Sapna has also acted in a few movies. She had a role in the 2006 Hindi film Pyaar Ke Side Effects and a small part in the 2008 movie Ugly Aur Pagli.

Reality Television Star

In 2012, Sapna became a contestant on the popular Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 6. During her 90 days on the show, she was nominated for eviction eight times but was saved by public votes seven times. She became famous for giving almost every other contestant a haircut and a new look. She was evicted just a week before the finale.

Work in Theatre

Sapna was part of a play called NIRBHAYA, which was first performed at a festival in Edinburgh in 2013. The play is based on real-life events and talks about the importance of women's safety. It won several awards, including the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award, for raising awareness about human rights.
